Keto & Dining Out – Featuring Fratello’s

I suppose I am on something of an Italian kick right now. I was meeting a friend for dinner, and she suggested Fratellos Italian Tavern, which is this great little place in Old North Charleston’s Park Circle.

I decided to go for the Pomodoro e Mozzarella, which is the House pulled mozzarella, roma tomatoes, basil, and balsamic reduction with parsley infused olive oil. I added the shrimp, and it was fabulous! Naturally, they brought out some absolutely delicious bread with olive oil and Parmesan cheese. I will admit to some mental justifications, but I judiciously avoided indulging. My suggestion would be that, if the temptation is too great, ask them not to bring the bread. To drink, I ordered the sparkling mineral water, which is my go to drink nowadays.

I do hope that you are beginning to see that dining out and living a Keto lifestyle is completely possible with a few thoughtful choices. Just remember that you want to focus on protein, veggies, and fats like cheese and olive oil. As tempting as it is, avoid the pasta dishes.
