Understanding My Value

I met a man last night. In the course of our time together, he told me that I was gold selling for copper.

The meaning was, I’m worthy, and do not need to prove myself to others. That phrase has been going through my mind ever since I heard it.
I’ve never felt as though I needed to justify myself. Perhaps I do, though. I’ve been mulling this over since he told me. Maybe it was a line? But if there is even a hint of validity to it, then perhaps I am not as confident as I thought. It has definitely given me something to ponder.
